That’s right, he has all his battle styles previously featured in Yakuza 0, except they’re just as powerful as they were then, so do expect to get beat down with bats, break-danced into the ground, and of course, stabbed, shanked, and cut when he comes at you in Mad Dog style. One more thing about the Majima Everywhere system: he’s rarely the same enemy twice. Try swinging by the area with a knife, gun, or maybe a frozen tuna on your person. I won’t even begin to spoil all the incredible, sometimes hilarious, encounters with Majima, but early on in the game, you’ll be notified that “Officer” Majima is working the beat by the Millennium Tower, and he’s on the lookout for anyone carrying any suspicious weapons. The Mad Dog of Shimano, Majima Goro takes it upon himself to challenge Kiryu in a sort of antagonistic mentor. If you're intrigued by the weirder elements, and you're willing to put up with a lot of repetitive play, just know it takes about 10 hours to really start enjoying them.Yakuza Kiwami, of course, goes into way more detail about what happens between 19 that turns Nishikiyama into a jerk, but what I think has had people really excited since we presented the game at E3 has been the Majima Everywhere system, where everybody’s favorite maniac can spring up on you from any place, at any time.īut you’ll actually want to fight him – mostly because Kiryu’s fourth and most powerful fighting style, the Dragon of Dojima style, is only leveled up by fighting Majima, who has taken it upon himself to retrain Kiryu so that he may regain what he lost in the years he was away from the city. One of the key new features in Yakuza Kiwami is the Majima Everywhere side quest. But you have to be rather patient as the clever, unique activities only open up after hitting certain milestones in the game. It's far more refreshing than punching, kicking, and performing things that lots of other games have you do anyway. Majima Trash - Majima will be in the little alcove in Park Alley (just southwest of the entrance to West Park) speaking to someone. As geeky as it might sound, interacting with hostesses can be surprisingly fun - conversations can go in any number of directions and even when you think you are picking the "right" response, you'll learn how you may have been insensitive or dismissive. You can frequent batting cages, race remote-control cars, and visit hostess clubs to forge relationships with ladies working there. The addition of the Majima Everywhere system sees Majima attempting to attack Kiryu, chasing him around the city, surprising him from different hiding spots, and donning a variety of disguises or outfits. Fortunately, like all Yakuza games, this game does what it can to offer variety and charming weirdness. Majima Goro, the fan-favorite character that has appeared in every main title of the Yakuza series, was given an additional feature in Kiwami (the remake of the first game). That means you spend most of your time running around and fighting other characters, which can become dull after a while. Still, at its core, Yakuza Kiwami is an open-world game. YAKUZA KIWAMI MAJIMA MESSAGES SERIESOther new elements are better implemented, perhaps because it trims plot points that just don't apply to series any more, making for a tighter game experience. It's not always greatly implemented, and can be jarring for parts of the game where Goro did originally appear - for example, he'll remark what a surprise it is to see you when, thanks to the new content, he had just appeared moments before to fight you. Yakuza Kiwami, while technically a remake of an older game, boasts a couple of new plot lines that up the absurdity - the most prevalent one is the "Majima Anywhere" mode, in which rival gangster Goro Majima tries to both train and challenge Kazuma Kiryu to be a better fighter by randomly appearing during the game to goad Kiryu into a fight. For this long running series, it's always unfortunate to see how well each entry balances its repetitive tendencies (nonstop random battles) against its goofy sense of humor. In an effort to help people who are having trouble with the e-mail hints of where to find Majima and under what circumstances, I decided to make a guide dedi.
